In this article Gerson discusses with sarcastic criticism about the republicans immigration issues. he talks about that if Republicans would like to win the presidential election then they have to stop being so narrow minded. I say this because in the article Gerson talks about how republicans want a majority white vote to win the presidential election and as Gerson said, "If (a significant "if") Hillary Clinton is the democratic nominee and gets 80 percent of the minority vote, republicans would probably need (in an estimate by National Journal's Ron Brownstein) about 63 percent of white voters. (the highest percentage republicans have ever gotten was Ronald Regans' 64 percent in 1984)" (lines 42-47). This shows that this white majority vote is almost impossible with the number of white people becoming out numbered by immigrants so they will have to start looking towards the minorities to help the vote.
